Everything and more in a Bagel Shop

For those who live or want to travel to NY and LOVE looking at food or eating with your eyes this place is a MUST stop by bagel shop.

Ben Suh the founder/owner is an amazingly kind and relatable person and you can tell he authentically cares about his customers and workers.

The atmosphere of this bagel shop is like any other bagel shop, fast paced, lots of chattering, and full of people from all walks of life, but the only difference is that when Ben mans the register counter, you know customer service is about to get real!

This place exudes hospitality.

You hear casual conversations between Ben and his regulars or even first timers, like me.

There is joy, laughter, and an ease to take your time and enjoy a meal whether you're on the go or out with friends.

Between the Bagel has a typical bagel menu along with a Korean food menu available.

I don’t know if it's true about the Korean food menu but when you order the special bagel menu he always generously gives away a complementary "Sour Power Wrapped Belt" candy and an appetizer called, "Ben's Balls" which is a flavor packed, crispy fried ball with rice, cheese and kimchi inside and topped with a creamy spicy gochujang mayo sauce that marries everything together perfectly.

But the BEST thing to order is the special menu that can be seen placed above the 3 tier bakery display case, the SMB, the DAPS, and the SOY PEEP.

Each sandwich can go between $13 to $14, but I would say, it is SO WORTH your time and money.

Although it is a mess maker, after each bite, I couldn't stop myself but indulge myself in this delicious creation.

We ordered the SMB which has cheese, eggs, kimchi, and a generous amount of bulgogi with a spicy gochujang mayo sauce on an Everything Bagel. Although the gochujang mayo sauce is spicy, it really is just a hint of spice, so don't fear spicy-no-eaters this can be a sandwich for you too.

The DAPS is a spicy pork sandwich, so if you can't take the heat, maybe going with a different option is fine, all the bagels sandwiches have an explosion of flavor in every bite. The DAPS has grilled jalapeños, homemade kimchi slaw, mozzarella, and a generous amount of bulgogi pork with their signature gochujang mayo sauce on a Jalapeño Bagel.

With how busy the shop can get, sometimes seating can be a hit or miss, depending on the time of day but that doesn't stop anyone from skipping out on their chance to take a bite.

It isn't too far of a walk (1 minute walk) from the nearest 30th Ave. NW station so it is a great in between stop during a commute or a lunch break.

At the end of the day, Between the Bagel is now my go-to bagel shop for the remainder of my time in NY as long as it's here to stay.
